Seniors

  • The seniors will adopt a phased return to play to build themselves back
  • 30/3 – 20/5: R2R – Engagement, well being, physical conditioning
  • 25/5 – 17/6: Off-season – fitness, recruitment, O2 Touch
  • 22/6 – 7/8: Pre-season – Cohesion, rugby activation (cardio/contact), matches

Ladies

  • Focus will be in developing movement, conditioning and rugby fundamentals, through RFU compliant games & activities
  • 29/3 – 30/5:Rugby fundamentals, activation, engagement
  • 31/5 – 13/7: Match fundamentals phase – lineouts, scrums, set piece
  • 14/7 onwards: pre-season preparation, conditioned games

Youth (U13s to U16s, Colts & Rubies)

  • Sunday training from 4 April. Midweek training from 29 March
  • Sunday training will be staggered – rota/pitch allocations to follow (similar to pre-lockdown)
  • April – matches may be played with opposition teams using Touch/Ready for Rugby rules
  • May – matches may be played with opposition teams using the RFU Adapted Games rules
    following assessment of squad/player fitness

Minis (U6 to U12s)

  • Sunday training from 4 April. Midweek training from 29 March (optional)
  • Sunday training will be staggered – rota/pitch allocations to follow (similar to pre-lockdown)
  • Focus on player/parent engagement, physical conditioning, body positions, hands & FUN!

The RRFC Return to Rugby plans have been prepared in conformity with RFU and Government guidelines as at the date of this communication.

  • Coaches – please ensure you have read & understood the RFU Stage D1/D2 training protocols on return – note contact limitations and RFU Activate Guidance.
  • Parents – we encourage you also to read the guidance. Training & match protocols will be decided and implemented by your coaches in line with that guidance.
  • We will consult with all sections and any outcome for Summer activity will be in line with the RFU guidance.
  • They are intended to be fair and inclusive to all our members.

Finances & Clubhouse facilities

Finances
• Reduced revenues due to closure of club for past 12 months
• Cost base managed effectively to mitigate lack of activity
• Boost to funds as a result of:
• Hillingdon Covid grants: £19k
• RFU Winter Survival grant: £TBC
• Membership subs: £30k
• Member donations: £20k

Clubhouse facilities & pitches

• Clubhouse & bar to fully re-open after 17 May
• Toilet facilities accessible from mid April
• Outdoor food & drinks from mid April
• Deep clean & pest control (external suppliers)
• Volunteers needed – cleaning, signage, housekeeping
• Covid Risk assessment being completed to submit to LBH
• Major capex to legacy issues:
• New floor in hall & general repairs: £15k (completed)
• New roof: £25k (eta mid-April)
• Pitch maintenance: £15k (during off season)

Governance

Eddie Keal (Chairman)

We are delighted to announce that Eddie has been elected to represent Middlesex County on the RFU Council for 3 years from August 2021. Eddie has been our club Chairman for over 10 years, and a Middlesex County Officer since 2014. This is a tremendous accolade and reward for his service to community rugby. We wish him the very best in this new role, and look forward to his stories when he pops in for a pint at his local club! He will leave our Management Committee after this years AGM.

Management Committee

  • We co-opted the following 3 members onto the Committee in early 2021: Aoife Coyle, Mark Hensman and Bob Harrison.
  • All Committee members have indicated their desire to continue to serve as RRFC Club Officers for next season.
  • With the departure of Eddie, Jatin Radia has expressed his interest to take on the Chairperson role. The Committee supports his candidature, and seeks someone to replace him as Club Treasurer.
  • In accordance with our Club constitution, if any member wishes to stand for a committee position, they may do so by submitting their application to Tim Harrington (secretary@ruisliprfc.co.uk) by 25 April 2021. Nominations for election to the Committee must be seconded and the candidate must have agreed to stand.
  • As per our standing rules, there will be a vote at the next AGM to elect Officers to the Committee for the following season.

Our next AGM will take place on Wednesday 12 May 2021, via a Zoom meeting.
