Rugby Safe

We fully support the implementation of Rugby Safe, the RFU’s overarching player safety and well-being programme.

By putting player welfare at the heart of the game, which includes how the game should be played and managed, it ensures Rugby is as safe as possible.

We at Ruislip RFC have a responsibility towards the health and safety of players, staff and volunteers. Appropriate measures for training, first aid provision and equipment should be in place to ensure that rugby union is delivered to the highest standards in a safe and enjoyable environment.

Last year 32 coaches and volunteers across all age groups were trained as first aiders with plans to open this club wide again in 2024. Several team managers and parents have access to PROactive which allows us to report ANY injury as and when it happens. This in turn allows our Head Physio and other healthcare professionals who volunteer to follow up on any injury.

Neil Horchover is our rugby safe lead.

Gemma Huggett is our Head Physio at the club.
