A BIG COLTS WEEKEND
This weekend was a big one for our Colts Squad. To celebrate the end of the season (and, indeed, our U18s moving into senior rugby), over 100 players and parents spent Saturday evening together at the club. The event started with a 15-a-side, touch game with the U18s taking on the U17s – the latter being supplemented by some of our newly arriving U16s. Inevitably this was a keenly fought affair! Then it was onto the business of awards, with our departing U18s – a big player group – significantly increasing the size of our Mini, Youth, Senior (MYS) club with more players to follow next season injury permitting. Colts awardees were as follows:
Top Tackler – Callum Handley
Top Assist – James Scullion
Top Trainer – George Chisholm
Most Improved Player – Toby Potter
Coaches Player – Callum Handley
Player’s Player – Archie Pape
And the new MYS additions – Jonathan Nye, Sean Ruddy, Cameron Scorringe, James Scullion, Josh Tindley
This was followed on Sunday morning by the squad travelling up to Luton, where despite the challenges of the opposition and perhaps one or two extensive Saturday evening celebrations, the lads were able to record a 48-24 win.
A great end to the season and fitting way to see our older age group out of Youth rugby – congratulations to all.
