Jack Petchey Awards Scheme
We recently had 2 fantastic recipients of the Jack Petchey Award at Ruislip Rugby Club this season.
First up, Caitlin Moore who became the first female member of the club to receive the award.
“Caitlin joined our u8 coaching team as part of her DoE, but the impact she has had on some of our young players has been amazing. She leads warm ups, gets stuck into coaching and most of all she has been such an inspiration to some of our more shy and less confident players, helping them intergrate with the rest of the team by organising games they can be included in and ensuring they are making new friends. She has also been a massive inspiration to the younger girls on the team. She is friendly, enthusiastic and so welcoming. She’s just awesome!”
Next it’s Haad Khurram Saeed
“Haad attends every session, usually making his own way there. Like a sponge when it comes to learning, always gives 💯 and a thoroughly lovely quiet bloke who seems to enjoy every minute and play with a smile on his face. “
RRFC aspires to acknowledge the efforts of all young people and is therefore proud to be part of the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme. As part of the scheme RRFC has three awards per year to award to those nominated in one of the following categories:-
Being a good role model/mentor
Volunteering
Helping others over and above expectations
Showing bravery
Breaking through a personal barrier
Overcoming a personal challenge
Trying really hard
The successful winner is then awarded £250 to invest in an area of the club that benefits players eg a trip, specialist coaching, equipment, a team event or a celebration event.
