Your Club Needs You!
A Fundraising and Social Committee for the Whole Club (Covid-19 special)
Having missed out on a Beer Festival and a Summer Ball at the end of last season, and having no prospect of a Fireworks Display in November, the Club finds itself in need of some events for everyone, and frankly, some cash.
This isn’t just about the cash. One of the things that makes our Club stand out from the crowd is our ability to run events which bring the whole Club together with a bit of good old-fashioned community spirit. Right now, we could all do with some of that. And we could do with the cash too, to be honest. No match tickets for Twickenham will put our arrangements with sponsors under strain and our financial outlook is not good on the income side of things
The Club Management Committee would like to create a Fundraising and Social Committee for the duration of the Covid-19 pandemic. The aim is to raise some money through some club or rugby associated activities which should be fun, and can engage everyone in the club in some way.
There are many examples at other Clubs around us.
- Virtual stay-at-home dinner with guest speakers and comedian on Zoom
- 100-Club
- Special Covid-19 Grand Draw
- Fantasy Rugby
- Car Boot sale
- Quiz night
- Auction of rugby promises
- Rugby tournaments (all within the new rules!)
I’m sure you get the idea.
Ideally, we would like to see a representative from every section of the Club – this is about team-building and sharing too! Minis, Youth, Boys, Girls, Senior Men and Women, Vets, Life Vice-Presidents, Supports, Friends and hangers-on.
If you have a little time to spare, and you want to help your Club, please sign up to be part of it!
The aim is to be light on meetings and preparations, and focus on fun, togetherness and cash. It’s not for ever, just for a few months.
