We recently had 2 fantastic recipients of the Jack Petchey Award at Ruislip Rugby Club this season.

From the Rubies, we have nominated Grace O’Halloran (U14s) and Penny Practise (U18s). Grace has really stepped up playing in the U14’s the year, its actually quite a big feat playing as one of the youngest in the age group and being one of the best players, week in week out. She has played multiple positions over the season and has really performed well where ever we put her. She’s hardly missed any training and I think she deserves the recognition 👏 She also makes time to befriend all the girls across the Rubies and we love that about her as it’s really important for building a good team environment! Looking forward to seeing her continue to develop next year too! Penny is a great nominee for the Jack Petchey Award. She takes good leadership of her team, a good role model and is patient with the girls. She always puts in a 100% effort at training and you can tell she likes to train as well as promoting our team on social media and telling others at her school. She plays a big role in recruitment for the rubies. She has picked up the sport very well from when she started, and nominating her reflects how much we admire her hard work and commitment, both of which are outstanding.

From the Women’s team, we have Alice Burness (Burney). From the Men’s team, we have Archie Pape.

Ruislip Rugby Club aspires to acknowledge the efforts of all young people and is therefore proud to be part of the Jack Petchey Achievement Award scheme.

As part of the scheme, RRFC has three awards per year to award to those nominated in one of the following categories:
– Being a good role model/mentor
– Volunteering
– Helping others over and above expectations
– Showing bravery
– Breaking through a personal barrier
– Overcoming a personal challenge

The successful winner is then awarded £250 to invest in an area of the club that benefits players eg a trip, specialist coaching, equipment, a team event or a celebration event.
